‘At one of the first events coming out of the pandemic, we were tasked with creating an outdoor oasis of comfort & shade for HSBC customers at The Open Championship, Royal St Georges’
The Response…
The challenge, as it always is at The Open, when everyone must be outside, do you protect them from the rain, wind, and sun, often all in the same day?
We maximised the footprint and challenging location of the lounge, keeping everything outdoors to adhere to COVID-19 regulations. We used large wind-rated parasols that kept customers dry during downpours and protected from the heat when the sun shone.
Outdoor televisions played the live golf and the atmosphere buzzed as customers settled on to the comfortable outdoor furniture with a local ice cream, refuelling from a long day on course.
